The HVAC brands we install and service.
Four residential brands cover the homes we work on, each with a different fit. Here's where each one sits, what we install from them, and what we charge to repair them.
Clear the Air has been a Trane Comfort Specialist since the 1990s and a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor for our mini-split work, the highest dealer designations either manufacturer grants. We install Bosch's geothermal and water-source heat pump line for the larger Sugar Land and West End Galveston builds where the lot supports a loop field. Goodman is our value-tier pick when budget is the deciding factor. We can quote any of the four depending on what fits the home, the budget, and the years of expected ownership.
Premium build, premium price, hard to beat for 12+ year ownership.

Most replacement decisions in South Houston come down to four questions: how long you expect to stay in the home, the budget you have for the install, what the lot can physically support, and how much weight you put on years 12 to 20 of equipment life. Here is the framework we use on the quote ride-along.
Staying 15+ years, want the longest equipment life
Premium tier. Trane XV20i variable-speed inverter for air-source. Real-world life of 15 to 20 years when the install is right and the system gets annual maintenance. Trane Comfort Specialist labor coverage extends what's already the strongest residential warranty in the field.
Big lot (Sugar Land, West End Galveston, rural acreage)
Geothermal. Bosch water-to-air or water-to-water with a horizontal or vertical loop field. 3 to 5x more efficient than air-source HVAC and qualifies for the 30 percent federal tax credit through 2032. Best on lots that physically support a loop.
Older home, no central ductwork, or adding an addition
Mini-split. Mitsubishi M-Series single-zone or P-Series multi-zone. Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor coverage gives a 12-year warranty (vs. 7 to 10 standard). The right answer for older Pearland homes that can't accept central ducted equipment, or for a garage / workshop / addition.
Budget-tier replacement, not staying 15+ years
Value tier. Goodman GSXC18 two-stage or value-tier single-stage. 10-year parts and labor warranty (the strongest value-tier coverage in residential). Real-world life in Houston is 12 to 15 years vs. 15 to 20 on Trane; for owners not expecting to stay that long, the math usually works.
How we pick what to quote
The brand matters less than the install quality. A poorly installed Trane runs worse than a properly installed Goodman. Manual J load calculation, Manual D ductwork sizing, and a real install crew matter 3x more than the badge on the cabinet.
On most replacement decisions we quote two options side-by-side: a value tier and a premium tier. The customer picks based on years they expect to stay, comfort priorities, and budget. We don't push the most expensive option.
