What's included with heating repair
Furnace or heat pump, a heating repair call in Pearland or South Houston follows the same four steps. The price is in writing before any work starts.
Full system diagnostic
The tech checks the thermostat and the electrical first, then moves to ignition and gas pressure on a furnace, plus the blower and heat exchanger. On a heat pump he tests the defrost controls and reversing valve before checking the backup heat strips.
Combustion safety check
On any gas system we test CO at the registers and at the unit. We will not leave a furnace running if it is putting carbon monoxide into the house, even if that is not what you called about.
Flat-rate written estimate
The diagnostic is $99, or $79 if you are new to us, and it is waived when you approve the repair. You see the repair price first and can send us home.
Same-day repair on most calls
Trucks carry igniters, flame sensors, capacitors and gas valves, so most heating repairs get done on the first trip.

What Pearland neighbors are saying
"After my heater stopped working on a rare very cold day in Texas, I called Clear the Air, and they were able to send someone out in a couple hours. They called and sent text messages to let me know when the technician was headed my way."
"Air cooling was the only one out of 4 companies available for a furnace emergency on a Sunday night. Jacob responded in an hour and was on his way."
"They provided excellent customer service from beginning to end and at a better price point than what we were quoted at the other companies. Our technician, Jacob Fletcher, let us know when he was on his way, gave a reasonable ETA, and arrived promptly. He was professional and polite."
Frequently asked
Can you come out today for a no-heat call?
Yes. We hold same-day slots open every day of the year, holidays included. Phones are answered around the clock. If the heat is out and the house is below 50 degrees, we treat it as urgent.
How much does a heating repair cost?
It starts with a $99 diagnostic ($79 for new customers), waived when you approve the repair. Small parts like an igniter, flame sensor or capacitor sit at the low end. A gas valve or blower motor costs more, and a heat exchanger more still. You see the flat-rate price in writing before we start, and most repairs are finished that visit.
My heat won't come on. What should I check first?
Make sure the thermostat is set to HEAT and the breaker has not tripped. Then look at the air filter and replace it if it is visibly dirty. Still nothing? Call 281-992-7866 for a same-day diagnosis.
Why is my heat pump blowing cool air in the winter?
On a cold, damp morning a heat pump goes into defrost for a few minutes to melt frost off the outdoor coil, and the air at the vents can feel cool while it does. If it stays in defrost for long stretches while the house cools off, we start with the defrost controls and the backup heat strips.
Do you charge more at night or on weekends?
No. A 2 AM call on a Sunday is the same price as a Tuesday morning, for every customer. No overtime fees.
What if you can't fix it the same day?
It happens now and then, usually when a unit needs a part the truck does not carry. You get a written quote and a scheduled return visit, usually within 24 to 48 hours, at no extra charge.
How is your repair work covered?
Every repair carries our 12-month parts and labor warranty. After that, a part we installed stays covered by the manufacturer for that brand's term, and labor is not included. The full terms are on our warranties page.
