The story
Clear the Air Cooling & Heating was founded in 1990 by Mike Stom, who came to HVAC by way of NASA's Space Program. He spent years engineering life-support systems and the astronaut crew trainers, work where a mistake could cost lives. After NASA, he turned his attention to a different kind of comfort: keeping South Houston families and businesses cool, warm, and breathing clean air.
"At NASA, the toughest challenge is to bring a comfortable, safe environment to the cold lifelessness of space," Mike used to say. "We bring all that experience and knowledge to your home or business."
Mike has since passed, but the standards he set still run every truck that leaves our shop.
Mike's son Jason Stom took over in 2006 and still runs the company today. He kept what his dad started: every technician trains every week, and every family that calls gets an honest diagnosis and a written price before any work begins.
We're not the cheapest HVAC company in Pearland. We're the company you call when you want it done right and you want a real person to answer the phone years from now if anything ever needs warranty work.

Stand behind the work
Every repair and installation carries a written 12-month parts and labor warranty, with the manufacturer's parts coverage after that. The terms are on our warranties page, not buried in fine print.

Clear the Air acquires Webers Air
Pearland-rooted Webers Air and Heat, opened in the 1980s and a longtime fixture across Pearland, Friendswood, and the South Houston market, is purchased by Clear the Air. The customer base comes with it.
Serving Houston and the Bay Area
Today Jason Stom carries forward the same promise. From Sugar Land to Galveston, every system is installed and serviced by techs who train every week.
