How it works
1. Send us the quote
Upload the PDF or a photo of it. Pasting the numbers into the form below works too. A one-page summary is enough to go on, and a four-page proposal lets us get more specific.
2. We review it like an estimator would
One of our senior estimators reads it. They check the equipment tier and the install scope, then the warranty terms and what the same work goes for locally. Anything that looks unreasonable gets flagged.
3. You get a written response within 2 to 24 hours
The estimator emails you line-by-line notes. A fair quote gets a recommendation to go ahead. When a number looks off, the notes say why and give a range we'd call reasonable.
What you don't get
No sales call. Nobody tells you "we can do better, sign today." You won't get six weeks of follow-up emails either. The review is only useful if you can believe it.
Send us the quote
Fill out the form and attach the quote. We'll respond by email within 2 to 24 hours.
What we look for in your quote
We look at the same things a senior estimator looks at when writing a bid:
- Equipment match. Is the model number actually appropriate for your home's load, or is it a popular SKU bundled in regardless of fit? We cross-check the listed tonnage against your square footage and a Manual J approximation.
- Tier-vs-price logic. A 14 SEER2 single-stage system shouldn't cost what a variable-speed 18+ SEER2 system costs. We flag price gaps that don't match the equipment tier.
- Install scope. What's actually included? New line set vs. flush of the existing? New plenum or reuse? Permit pulled? Old equipment hauled away? We list what you're paying for and what's missing.
- Warranty terms. Manufacturer parts warranty (10 years standard on registered equipment) plus the contractor's labor warranty, which varies a lot from company to company. We tell you what's standard and what stands out.
- Local market rate. What would a reasonable contractor in Pearland and South Houston charge for this same scope in 2026? We give you a range we can back up.
Even if your quote turns out to be fair
We mean it. If the contractor you got a bid from is in the right range and selling you the right equipment, we'll tell you so and recommend you go with them. We didn't set this up to poach jobs. A lot of homeowners get one quote, feel uneasy about it and have nobody neutral to ask.
If you're happy with that contractor and the price holds up, we hope you tell a neighbor about us anyway. That's how we've stayed in business since 1990.
Common questions
Will you actually tell me if the other company's quote is fair?
Yes, in writing. We point to the line items that look high or low, note the ones that look right, and show the math behind each call. When the other quote is fair we say so and tell you to go with them. A $500 service ticket isn't worth losing sleep over. We'd rather have you as a customer for 10 years.
What does this cost?
Nothing. There is no diagnostic fee or consultation charge. We started doing this because a homeowner holding a five-figure HVAC quote usually has nobody neutral to ask.
Is someone going to call me to upsell me?
No. You get a written response inside 2 to 24 hours. We follow up only if you ask us to, by replying to that email or booking a free in-home estimate.
What information do you need from me?
A copy of the quote in whatever form you have it. Add your home's rough square footage, the age of the current system and your ZIP code. Anything past that helps but is optional.
How long does it take?
Written reviews go out within 2 to 24 hours, weekends included. If a contractor is sitting at your kitchen table right now and you need an answer this hour, call and ask for our senior estimator on the second-opinion line.
Do you review quotes outside your service area?
Yes. We cover Pearland, Friendswood, League City, Alvin, Manvel, Pasadena, Webster, Clear Lake and the ZIPs around them. For a job outside that, we'll still tell you whether the price looks fair for the region. We won't pitch you on work we can't do.
