The ones everyone asks
Do you offer same-day AC repair in Pearland?
Yes. Same-day AC repair on most calls placed before noon. Trucks leave our shop on County Road 130 in Pearland every day for Friendswood and League City and the rest of South Houston. 24/7 emergency dispatch is available, and there are no overtime fees for anyone. The price is the same at 2pm on a Tuesday and 2am on a Sunday. Call 281-992-7866.
How much does AC repair cost?
We publish real ranges: capacitor replacement runs $180 to $320, refrigerant diagnosis and recharge $350 to $650 (R-410A), compressor replacement $1,800 to $3,500, and condensate drain line clearing $150 to $250. Every repair gets a written quote before any work starts. Clear Advantage members get 10% off all repairs.
How much does a new AC system cost in the Houston area?
Full system replacement runs $8,900 to $21,500 depending on tonnage, efficiency tier, and brand. Each quote has three tiers: Choice (single-stage), Priority (multi-stage), and Premier (variable-speed), with model numbers in writing. Every replacement is sized with an ACCA Manual J load calculation, free with the install, so the system fits your actual house.
Do you charge extra for nights and weekends?
No. Nobody pays overtime fees here, member or not. Nights, weekends, holidays: the price is the price, quoted up front before a truck rolls. Clear Advantage members ($25/month) do get front-of-line scheduling and waived service-call fees, which matters most during a July heat wave.
What areas do you serve?
We're headquartered in Pearland and serve about 40 South Houston communities daily: Pearland, Friendswood, League City, Clear Lake, Alvin, Manvel, Webster, Dickinson, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Pasadena, Baytown, La Porte, Galveston, Texas City, Santa Fe, Kemah, Seabrook, and surrounding areas.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Texas HVAC license TACLA32678, verifiable on the TDLR website. Family-owned and operated since 1990, founded by Mike Stom, a former NASA engineer, and run by his son Jason Stom since 2006. Fully insured, and we pull the proper city or county permits on every installation.
Do you offer financing on new systems?
Yes, we offer financing options on system replacements and major repairs, subject to approved credit, with terms presented alongside the written quote so you can compare cash vs. financed cost. High-efficiency installs may also qualify for CenterPoint Energy rebates. We flag what applies on your quote.
Do you do air duct cleaning?
Yes. Whole-house air duct cleaning typically runs $400 to $900. We use rotary-brush plus negative-air-pressure equipment, document before-and-after photos of every supply and return, and seal accessible duct leaks during the same visit at no extra charge. NADCA-aligned methods, no upsell pressure.
Do you clean dryer vents?
Yes. Dryer vent cleaning is available on its own or added to any AC or duct cleaning visit at a discount. A lint-blocked dryer vent is a fire risk and makes the dryer run long and hot. We clean the full run to the exterior termination and verify airflow after.
What is the Clear Advantage membership and what does it cost?
Clear Advantage is $25/month or $300/year. It includes two seasonal tune-ups, waived service-call fees, front-of-line priority scheduling, 10% off all repairs, priority emergency dispatch, and a transferable plan if you move.
Do you give second opinions on repairs another company quoted?
Yes. If another company told you that you need a new compressor or a full system, send us their written quote (a PDF or photo works) through our free quote review and we'll reply in writing within 2 to 24 hours. If you want us to look at the system in person, a repair visit is our $99 diagnostic, waived when you approve the repair, and replacement estimates are free. Sometimes the original quote is right; often a smaller repair does the job.
How much is an AC tune-up?
$99 for an AC tune-up ($79 with our $20-off coupon) and $99 for a furnace tune-up. Both are free for Clear Advantage members, since two seasonal visits are included in the $25/month plan. Our tune-up measures the refrigerant charge and tests the capacitor. We also inspect the coil, treat the drain and write up a condition report.
Are heat pumps a good fit for Houston-area homes?
Usually, yes. South Houston's mild winters are ideal for heat pumps: one system handles both cooling and heating efficiently. We lead with Trane heat pumps (Comfort Specialist dealer) and Goodman on the value tier, from $7,500 installed, with premium variable-speed systems running toward the top of the $8,900 to $21,500 replacement range. Qualifying high-efficiency models may be eligible for CenterPoint Energy rebates, and every replacement comes with a Manual J load calc.
Do you work on all brands of AC equipment?
Yes, we repair and service every major brand: Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, American Standard, Mitsubishi, Daikin, and more. For installations we lead with Trane (Comfort Specialist since the 1990s) and Goodman, plus Mitsubishi for mini-splits and Bosch for water-source geothermal. Every repair and installation is backed by our 12-month parts and labor warranty, with the manufacturer's parts warranty after that.
Why is my house humid even when the AC is running?
Most often the AC is oversized, which is common in 2000s-era builds around Pearland and Friendswood. An oversized system cools the air fast and shuts off before it dehumidifies, so the thermostat reads 74° but the air feels clammy. The fix is right-sizing at replacement (the Manual J load calc is free with every replacement), or a whole-home dehumidifier in the meantime.
