We may still be in the fall season, but it’s never too early to prepare for the winter. So, while you might be currently getting ready for Thanksgiving and watching the leaves fall off the trees, we’re busy coming up with tips to get you through the winter in case your heater stops working.
Living without heat during the winter is never fun, especially when there’s a storm happening outside! Fortunately, at Clear the Air, we’re trained for these types of situations, and we will do everything in our power (see what we did there) to help you stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. If you find yourself in need of heating repair in the Houston, TX area during the cold season, look no further. Here are three tips to help you get through a heating power outage this winter:
- Call our emergency services - If your heater breaks down during the winter months, the first thing you need to do is not panic. The second thing you need to do is contact our emergency services here at Clear the Air. We will handle your call quickly and efficiently, and as soon as it’s safe to venture outside, we will send one of our technicians to respond to your heating problem within hours instead of days.
- Get moving - If you feel as though you never have time to exercise, now’s your chance! You’re might be stuck in your house if it’s storming outside, so you might not only be freezing, but you might also be trying to find something to do while they restore your power or we fix your heater. Do some jumping jacks, push-ups, and sit-ups to keep yourself warm while also giving your body a small workout.
- Layer up - Not to be confused with the basketball term "lay-up", we mean layer up as in pile on the extra clothes and blankets. After you’ve called us (or your electric company) and exercised to warm up, you’ll want to use layers while you wait. We suggest wearing warm clothing, including a hat, scarf, gloves, sweatshirts, jackets, sweaters, and anything else you can think of! Also, don’t forget your favorite blanket (or two!).
